Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Iqbal Ghanim, Head of the Nursing Department, third-year students of the Nursing Department at Baghdad College of Medical Sciences are training for the Paediatric Nursing course in the wards of the Child Protection Teaching Hospital, as part of the series “A Day in the Life of a Nursing Student”.
The training includes direct care of sick children, case follow-up, and discussion with the healthcare staff and the clinical supervisor.
Clinical training in teaching hospitals from the early years is an essential part of preparing nursing students at the College, linking what they study with real-world health practice and preparing them for the labour market.
