About the Library
The Library of Baghdad College of Medical Sciences is a specialized academic institution. It was established in 2000, at the inception of the college, to support the educational and research process in the fields of pharmacy and nursing. The library provides students and faculty members with diverse knowledge resources, including books, references, scientific research, journals, and theses. It is staffed by professionals in library sciences, including Ms. Rajaa Jabbar Qasim, the Library Secretary, and Ms. Zainab Abdulsalam, the Head of the Methodical Library.
Library Objectives
It aims to provide a suitable study environment equipped with Internet services to facilitate scientific research and access to up-to-date information, keeping pace with the latest developments in the fields of pharmacy and nursing.

3. Electronic Databases and Digitally Archived Books
These include a large number of specialized pharmaceutical books and references archived in electronic format (PDF), including international references such as:
BNF، Goodman & Gilman، Martindale، Stockley’s and others.
– These databases are used internally within the department via dedicated computers.
– Students are guided to utilize them for research and graduation projects.
Fourth: Resources and Multimedia
– A computer lab equipped with a number of modern devices has been allocated for browsing electronic books and databases.
– It provides a flexible and dedicated learning environment.
– They are used in graduation projects and interactive courses under faculty supervision.
Fifth: Reference Management Systems and Databases
The library relies on two systems:
– Integrated Open-Source Library System – Koha
– UNESCO Data Archiving and Indexing System – Winisis
– Reference and Database Management Systems
Sixth: Qualifications and Experience of Library Staff
The librar staff includes an experienced librarian and a computer programmer responsible for digital systems, cataloging, technical support, and user guidance.
Seventh: Library Health and Learning Environment
The library provides a comfortable learning environment that includes:
♦ Cooling systems covering the entire area
♦ Suitable and eye-friendly lighting
♦ A location away from noise sources, with continuous staff supervision to maintain quietness
