Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Iqbal Ghanim, Head of the Nursing Department, and as part of the activities of the Community Health Branch, the Nursing Department at Baghdad College of Medical Sciences organized an awareness tour of several schools, in which the department’s students delivered direct health education sessions to pupils.
In girls’ schools, our female students delivered sessions on breast cancer awareness and the importance of early detection on the occasion of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, while in boys’ schools our students delivered sessions on the dangers of drugs and their impact on health and the future.
The tour is a practical application of what students study in community health, and strengthens the College’s role in community service and in spreading health awareness among young generations.
