Pursuant to Letter No. (916) dated 12/10/2026 from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Private University Education, the Free Scholarship channel has been launched for the 2026–2027 academic year, in accordance with the regulations in the Guide to Application and Admission Regulations for Private Universities and Colleges, paragraph (A-4-7). The scholarship covers colleges of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy, including the Pharmacy Department at Baghdad College of Medical Sciences.
Application period
The electronic application and admission portal for this channel is open on the Qaddim platform from 13/10/2026 to 24/10/2026.
Eligibility
- The student must be a graduate of the scientific branch of secondary school for the 2025/2026 academic year only.
- The student’s average must be at least 93% for Dentistry and Pharmacy, and 96% for Medicine.
- The student may apply to seven (7) different colleges within private universities or colleges.
- Scholarship seats are set at 5% of the capacity of each university or college.
Competitive average
Competitive average = secondary-school average (100%) + additional marks of up to 15%, distributed as follows:
- 7 marks for children of martyrs (first degree), supported by a letter from the Martyrs Foundation.
- 6 marks for students who have lost their father, mother or both, supported by the original death certificate.
- 5 marks if the student’s father is a member of the Popular Mobilization Forces, supported by a letter from the PMF Commission / Central Administration.
- 3 marks for students from low-income families, supported by the social welfare ID issued by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
Admission to the scholarship is based on the highest competitive average.
After admission
Once a student is admitted to a university or college, the other admission options are deleted automatically. The Department of Private University Education approves the names of admitted students electronically, and students then register through the dedicated registration interface for scholarship students.
Steps on Qaddim: log in, activate your privilege if eligible, then choose: Free Scholarship → University College → Baghdad College of Medical Sciences → Pharmacy → Morning, and place it among your first choices out of the seven colleges.
