Our Graduates… A Success Story | Episode 29
Israa Abdulrasool Mohammed Sadiq — 15th cohort · 2018–2019
Assistant Lecturer — Baghdad College of Medical Sciences
“Every step I took after graduation taught me something new and brought me closer to my goal.”
Her story in her own words
After graduating from Baghdad College of Medical Sciences as the top student of my cohort, I was appointed as a teaching assistant at the College, and this was a new and important beginning in my life. Working as a laboratory teaching assistant, taking on teaching responsibilities and dealing with students was a new experience for me. It was not easy at first, but it helped me greatly to develop my personality and my scientific and practical skills. Three years after graduation, I decided to continue my academic journey and enrolled in a master’s programme in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Mustansiriyah University. During this period I faced the challenges of study and scientific research, but I overcame them with patience, perseverance and belief in my abilities. Today I consider every stage I went through — from graduation and appointment as a teaching assistant to my master’s studies — a step that helped me reach what I aspire to.
