Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abbas Hussein, Dean of the College, and on the occasion of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Pharmacy Department at Baghdad College of Medical Sciences held an awareness seminar entitled “Your Awareness Protects You” on breast cancer and early detection, under the slogan “Solidarity and Making an Impact”.
The seminar was held in cooperation with the University Psychological Counselling Division, the Student Activities Division and the Women’s Affairs Division, with the participation of a group of Pharmacy students.
Lecturer Dr. Istabraq Mohammed, Head of the University Psychological Counselling Division, delivered the opening speech, after which the seminar was presented by second-year student Huda Ziyad. It addressed the importance of early detection, risk factors, and caring for patients and survivors.
The seminar was widely attended by the College’s students and teaching staff, and pink ribbons and symbolic gifts were distributed to the audience.
