Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Iqbal Ghanim, Head of the Nursing Department, the Community Health Branch of the Nursing Department at Baghdad College of Medical Sciences organized a scientific visit for fourth-year students to the Baghdad Prosthetics Center, affiliated with the Baghdad Al-Rusafa Health Directorate, accompanied by the supervising teaching staff, as part of the series “A Day in the Life of a Nursing Student”.
The students listened to an explanation by the center’s staff about the services it provides, toured the prosthetics manufacturing workshop and the stages of preparing and fitting prostheses, viewed samples of manufactured limbs, and learned first-hand about the nurse’s role in the rehabilitation and care of people with physical disabilities, within the concept of community health.
