Our Graduates… A Success Story | Episode 20
Ali Abdulhussein Al-Obaidi — 14th cohort · 2017–2018
Iraq Sales Line Manager — an international pharmaceutical company
“Investing in yourself and continuous discipline are the real engine of any success.”
His journey in one sentence
From the classroom to leading pharmaceutical sales — a journey of passion and continuous development.
His story in his own words
After graduation, the biggest challenge was moving from the academic world of pharmacy to practising the profession in its various fields, which requires advanced personal, leadership and commercial skills not covered by traditional curricula. I overcame this challenge by continuously investing in self-development: I combined my scientific background with field skills, seized the first job opportunity even in a modest place to gain experience, and rose through management responsibilities until I led scientific sales teams for prestigious top-three pharmaceutical companies. I did not settle for practical experience, but went on to complete a Master of Business Administration (MBA) to strengthen my strategic vision and develop pharmacy staff — and the journey continues.
