Our Graduates… A Success Story | Episode 17

Yaqeen Al-Haqq Fathallah Ghazi — 14th cohort · 2017–2018
Assistant Lecturer — College of Medicine, Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences

“I chose to turn my passion for learning and understanding medicines into science, and my science into impact.”

Her journey in one sentence

From pharmacist to academic and researcher: a journey of ambition that never stops.

Her story in her own words

After graduating with distinction from pharmacy school, I chose not to let graduation be the end of my academic journey, but the beginning of a new stage. I continued my studies in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and earned a master’s degree, while developing my skills in scientific research and university teaching. One of my biggest challenges was balancing academic responsibilities, teaching, administrative work and research while continuing to develop professionally. I dealt with this by organizing my time, setting clear goals and continuing to learn even when circumstances were difficult. I was able to take part in publishing research in Scopus-indexed journals, gained experience in teaching and supervising pharmacy students, and became an assistant lecturer at the university. Today I aspire to continue my journey with a PhD specializing in computer-aided drug design, combining pharmacy, chemistry and scientific research.
