His story in his own words
His journey in one sentence: “Creating real meaning in my life through what I do every day.”
I began my career after graduating from Baghdad College in pharmacy, working in pharmaceutical marketing with Sanofi-Aventis, responsible for important products such as Clexane and Lantus. I then emigrated to the United States and started my career over as a pharmacy technician trainee, then a pharmacy technician, and eventually a licensed pharmacist at Harmons.
In 2018 I had the opportunity to move into management when I accepted a Pharmacy Manager position at CVS, and I continued managing pharmacies until 2022. I then moved to Kroger Health as a Pharmacy Leader, where I currently manage high-volume pharmacies.
Alongside my career, in 2019 I earned a business administration degree from Missouri State University to support my leadership and management ambitions.
My next step is to move into a Pharmacy Practice Coordinator role, where I aim to expand my impact from managing a single pharmacy to developing and managing the pharmacy profession on a wider scale.
Pharmacist Haider Raad Al-Khalisi’s advice to today’s students
“Don’t let negativity or fear define your future; success begins when you do what you are afraid to do and distance yourself from negative environments.”
