His story in his own words

His journey in one sentence: “From the pharmacy benches to the horizons of scientific research and academic excellence.”

I began my journey as a student in the Pharmacy Department at Baghdad College of Medical Sciences, and today I continue it as a faculty member and researcher at the same College. The biggest challenge I faced was balancing my PhD in physiology with teaching and academic and administrative responsibilities; I had to keep progressing scientifically while giving my students and my work the attention they deserve. I overcame this stage with patience and discipline, building my achievement step by step, until I earned the doctorate I consider my most important academic achievement. This journey taught me to value the effort that precedes every success and brought me closer to my students’ ambitions and challenges. Today, when I stand before them, I remember myself in their seats, and I make sure to give them the knowledge and experience that will help them build their future with confidence. Perhaps the most beautiful thing I have achieved is that the place that gave me my start has become the place where I help create other people’s beginnings.

Dr. Muhannad Mahdi Al-Qaisi’s advice to today’s students

“Don’t study just to graduate; learn to make a place for yourself, and start building today a name that precedes your degree.”
