during the first year of the four-year academic program, over a full academic year consisting of two semesters. During this period, students are introduced to all the fundamental concepts of providing nursing care to patients, following proper and basic scientific techniques in patient care.<br\/>The course is taught in two components: a theoretical component of 3 hours per week and a practical component of 12 hours per week. During the first semester, students receive practical training in the college\u2019s laboratory, while in the second semester, they undergo clinical training at one of the teaching hospitals in Baghdad.<br\/>In addition, other academic subjects related to basic sciences are taught within this branch. \n                <\/p>\n                <div class=\"bcms-note\">\n                    Branch Objectives:<br\/>The branch aims to introduce students to the basic principles of nursing and familiarize them with the foundations of the nursing profession. Students learn about various medical and surgical conditions and how to provide nursing care by applying appropriate scientific methods and techniques for caring for adult patients.<br\/>The course consists of two components: a theoretical component of 3 hours per week and a practical component, during which students receive training in teaching hospitals for 12 hours per week over two academic semesters.<br\/>During the first semester, students study medical and surgical conditions that require medical or surgical treatment. Students learn about the various stages of fetal growth and development and how to provide nursing care to pregnant women during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. They also learn how to provide nursing care to mothers experiencing complications and various surgical conditions, as well as care for newborns.<br\/>The course consists of both theoretical and practical components, with 3 hours of theoretical instruction, 2 hours of laboratory work, and 12 hours of practical training per week. Students receive practical training in the college\u2019s laboratories and in maternity and gynecology hospitals in Baghdad. \n                <\/p>\n                <div class=\"bcms-note\">\n                    Branch Objectives:<br\/>The branch aims to educate students about the physiological and psychological aspects of pregnancy during pregnancy, labor, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Students also focus on the preventive aspect by promoting mental health and maintaining the well-being of individuals and society.
